ENPASAR: A couple was found stabbed to death in their rented shop house in Denpasar on Friday, just two weeks after their wedding.

Fenny Maria Suliyanto, 27, and Sugianto Halim, 30, who had jointly run the Sejahtera shoe shop on Jl. Wahidin, were believed to have been murdered and robbed in the same day, the police said.

Denpasar police chief Sr. Comr. Gde Alit Widana said the victims might have been killed several hours before.

"The husband was found with stab wounds on his left stomach, right shoulder, and his left ear was almost cut off, while the wife had been cut on her neck and her ear."

The police investigated the house for six hours on Friday afternoon.

Hundreds of people flocked the house to see the investigation and caused traffic congestion.

The deceased were then taken to Sanglah Hospital.
