ANDUNG: Nazriel “Ariel” Irham, the front man for pop rock group Peterpan, denied having sexual intercourse with Luna Maya and Cut Tari at his trial on obscenity charges at the Bandung District Court.
“[Ariel] never had sex with the two women in the video,” his lawyer Riezhkie Marhaendra said after Thursday’s hearing.
The video, which spread on the Internet, featured Ariel — or his doppelganger — having sex with two women in different clips, widely believed to by Ariel’s fiancée Luna and TV host Tari. Tari has since confessed that it was her in the video.
During the hearing, prosecutor Singgih Budi Prakoso played Ariel the video.
Under questioning, Ariel stood by claims that he was not the person in the video.
“Ariel said the man in the video looked like him and the women resembled Luna Maya and Cut Tari,” Rusmanto, a prosecutor, said after the hearing.
Five witnesses called by the prosecution failed to appear, including Cut Tari’s husband, Yusuf Subrata. — JP
