oreign Minister Sugiono confirmed on Friday that French President Emmanuel Macron and Chinese Premier Li Qiang will visit Indonesia next week, during which the two senior officials are expected to hold talks with President Prabowo Subianto.

Sugiono said Macron would kick off his two-day visit to Indonesia on May 27, while Li is scheduled to arrive earlier.

"The plan will be to have President Macron visiting Indonesia after the ASEAN summit in Kuala Lumpur. Prior to that, there will also be a visit from the prime minister of China," Sugiono was quoted by Antara as saying.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi also confirmed Li's trip to Indonesia in April following his meeting with President Prabowo.

Earlier this week, French Ambassador to Indonesia Febien Penone held a meeting with Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya to hammer out the logistical details of Macron's visit.

While in Indonesia, Macron is expected to join Prabowo on a trip to the Military Academy in the highland city of Magelang in Central Java.

The last time Prabowo held a meeting with Macron was when the President traveled to Rio de Janeiro for the Group of 20 (G20) summit.
