ULELENG: Gede Rahayudi, a village chief at Sudaji, was named a suspect for allegedly collecting money to process land certificates.
According to Singaraja Prosecutor Office head I Gusti Nyoman Subawa, the village chief collected Rp 700,000 per land certificate issued through the village office. He had allegedly collected Rp 180 million (US$20,34) as of December 2010.
The prosecutor said that the issuance of land certificates was free of charge under the National Program for land certification. — JP
