AKARTA: Indonesian students clinched a gold medal and two honorable mentions at the Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO) in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Evan Laksono from IPEKA senior high school in Tomang, Jakarta snagged the gold while the honorable mentions
went to Erwin Handoko Tanin from Sutomo I senior high school in Medan, North Sumatra, and Limiardi Eka from
Penabur senior high school in Gading Serpong, Banten, according to Indonesian team supervisor Hendra Kwee as reported by Antara.

Hendra said 16 countries enrolled in the Olympiad.

“The team from China won eight golds, which were the most,” Hendra said.

APhO awarded four types of prizes: gold, silver and bronze medals and honorable mentions. — JP
