AKASSAR: Cantika Salsabila, a student of Unggulan Monginsidi elementary school and Nadia Annisa, a student of Pertiwi elementary school, were elected the winners of the 2011 Little Doctor Award roadshow in Makassar, South Sulawesi (picture).

The students will represent Makassar and square off against other finalists from Jakarta; Bandung, West Java; Medan, North Sumatra; and Semarang, Central Java; during the final round in Jakarta in September. They were chosen as winners after scoring the most points in a competition spanning puzzle solving, rallies, healthy life familiarization contests and interview sessions.

The contest is aimed to improve the awareness of healthy lifestyles among children in the fourth and fifth grade.

Attending the event in Makassar were Indonesian Doctors’ Association chairman Prijo Sidipratomo, South Sulawesi Indonesian Doctors’ Association chairman Abdul Kadir and Lifebuoy soap representative Ade Nirmala Chandra.

“Lifebuoy familiarizes and educates healthy lifestyles through developing hand washing habits through the Little Doctor competition so that they can be the agents of change for their families and friends,” Ade said as quoted by news portal tribunnews.com. JP
