AKARTA: Inong Malinda, aka Malinda Dee, a former Citibank senior relationship manager who allegedly embezzled billions of rupiah from bank customers, has been transferred to the police hospital in Kramat Jati after months of recovery in Siloam Hospital in Tangerang for breast inflammation surgery.

“She is at Kramat Jati Hospital now. She has been in good health since Monday last week,” National Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Anton Bachrul Alam said on Monday.

Anton said the police would detain Malinda in the criminal investigation unit once she was fully recovered.

Malinda underwent a breast inflammation operation in July after police detained her for allegedly embezzling as much as Rp 17 billion (US$1.99 million) from Citibank customers. According to Anton, the police sent files from Malinda’s case to the prosecutor’s office two weeks ago. (rcf)
