ANGERANG: Pediatricians at Tangerang General Hospital say 3-month-old Muhammad Rehan, the baby who was crying tears of blood, may have an eye infection but is otherwise healthy.

Dr. Rika Oktarina said that a check up uncovered no serious health problems with Rehan. “All is normal. The baby is also very healthy,” Rika said as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.

Rika said that the blood seeping from both his eyes might have been caused by an infection. “We will have to wait for the results of a blood test from the laboratory to verify what really caused the problem.”

Rehan might be discharged from the hospital within a day, Rika said.

Rehan’s mother, Siti Muamalah, a resident of Cikupa in Tangerang, Banten, gave birth to the baby on Oct. 21. However, three days later blood started to seep from Rehan’s eyes whenever he cried.
