verybody loves a hero, and the upcoming 2012 Djarum Indonesia’s theme of badminton heroes has attracted people from all walks of life to enjoy the fun in the run-up to the spectacular tournament.
Visitors were charmed by bodybuilders dressed as wayang (shadow puppet) heroes but brandishing badminton rackets during the Badminton Freak event at Gandaria City mall in Jakarta on May 25, as well as at Paris Van Java mall in Bandung on May 19.
Also on the itinerary was Matrix Badminton, a spectacular, dramatic and theatrical performance of the sport, and DIO Action, a lively dance performance featuring the mascots of the 2012 Djarum Indonesia Open. The mascots also performed in Gandaria City mall on May 26, Car-Free Day in Jakarta on May 27 and June 3, Dago Plaza in Bandung on June 9 and Car-Free Day in Bandung on June 10.
The entertaining events are for the 2012 Djarum Indonesia Open, to be held June 12–17. The tournament will feature the world’s 10 badminton players bidding for the purse of US$650,000.
