AKARTA: The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) said that it had yet to receive documents from the Papua New Guinea government on the possible extradition of fraud convict Djoko Tjandra.
“We haven’t received the documents. We expect them to arrive in the middle of January. Once we get the documents, we can talk about them,” Deputy Attorney General Darmono said as quoted by tribunnews.com.
Darmono said that after returning the documents to the Papua New Guinea government, the AGO would have six months before the neighboring country could respond.
Djoko was convicted of misusing Bank Indonesia Liquidity Support (BLBI) funds in the Bank Bali case. He fled to Papua New Guinea one day before the Supreme Court sentenced him to prison for fraud in 2009.
