T

he Lampung court sentenced Singer Andika Mahesa, formerly the frontman of local music group Kangen Band, to seven months in jail for kidnapping a teenager .

The singer was shocked with the sentence, news portal Kompas.com reported.

'€œYes, Andika was shocked, but after [we] explained, Andika accepted the punishment,'€ Ferry Juan, Andika'€™s lawyer, said.

Previously, prosecutors had recommended the singer get 10 months in prison.

Ferry Juan said his client accepted the punishment and has no intention to file an appeal.

This is not Andika'€™s first brush with the law. Last year, he was arrested along with all his then-bandmates for alleged possession of illegal substances. Earlier this year, he was reported by his third wife for alleged domestic violence.
