cargo aircraft operated by PT Trigana ran off the runway at Wamena airport at around 4:30 p.m. local time on Monday, an official has said.
'I've just received a report that an aircraft has run off the runway; but fortunately, there were no victims during the incident,' head of Wamena airport in Jayawijaya, Papua, Junikar Pakondo, told The Jakarta Post.
He said the incident occurred when the aircraft's front wheel ran five meters over the end of the runway.
'The aircraft was then pulled back onto the runway,' said Junikar, adding that the cargo aircraft departed from Jayapura to Wamena airport.
In a previous incident, a Trigana-operated British Aerospace 146-type cargo aircraft caught fire at Wamena airport on May 8 when unloading cargo. No victims were recorded during the incident. (fan/ebf)
