'The gridlock has reached the toll gate in Cikunir, around 40 kilometers from Jakarta, while in the opposite
lane, traffic can be seen for around 10 kilometers , ending at the 44-kilometer point,' deputy
director of the West Java Traffic Police, Adj. Sr. Comr. Prahoro TW, said as quoted by tempo.co today.
He said the West Java Traffic Police were redirecting vehicles from both lanes heading to Bandung from Jakarta to Cikarang while vehicles heading in the opposite direction were being redirected to Purwakarta arterial highway.
Nevertheless, he went on, the police also predicted that congestion on the arterial highways would be unavoidable.
'We will be out providing assistance to vehicles,' he said.(dic)
