ikmatTomet, a Golkar Party politician and husband of Banten Governor Ratu AtutChosiyah, died at the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital on Saturday.
'He died after receiving treatment for approximately a month at the hospital,' Golkar Party deputy secretary-general Nurul Arifin said on Saturday as quoted by Kompas.com.
Hikmat was a member of the House of Representatives' transportation and telecommunications commission and also head of Golkar's Banten branch.
The deceased's remains were brought to the family home at Jl. Bhayangkara in Serang, Banten. As yet there is no information regarding funeral arrangements.
Hikmat's death comes at an already difficult time for his wife who has recently been questioned as witness for a bribery allegation involving her sibling, Tubagus Chaeri Wardhana.(dic)
