he Corruption EradicationCommission (KPK) has named former Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) chief Hadi Purnomoa suspect over the allegation of granting a tax objection worth Rp 5.7 trillionwhen he served as taxation director-general during 2001-2004.

'€œWe have increased the legal status of this case to a full investigation and this involved Hadi Purnomo when he served as taxation director-general,'€ KPK chief Abraham Samad told a press conference on Monday as quoted by kompas.com.

Hadi had been accused of abusing his authority by approving a request made by the country'€™s largest private bank, Bank Central Asia (BCA), which had requested a tax objection worth Rp 5.7 trillion.

No information from Hadi or his lawyer on the matter has been forthcoming. (dic)
