olice have arrested the leader of the Yogyakarta chapter ofthe Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), Bambang Tedi, over allegations of a swindleinvolving the sale of land. Bambang was apprehended at his home in Wates,Balecatur in Sleman.

According to tribunnews.com, Bambang'€™s capture was a tough operation as police tried to arrest him as early as 6:30 a.m. Police finally took Bambang into custody at 10:30 a.m.

Bambang was once sentenced to three months in prison and probation for six months in 2012 for assaulting businesswoman Erni Efriyanti. Bambang was also accused of leading an attack against the members of the Ahmaddiyah sect in 2011. (dyl)
