The Bekasi chapter of the Regional Intelligence Community (Kominda) has announced that members of the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant (ISIL), also known as ISIS, is spreading its ideology in eight mosques in Bekasi, West Java.

Maryono, the head of Kominda'€™s Bekasi chapter, said the eight mosques were the Al Muhajirin Mosque on Jl. Pulo Sirih, Pekayon; Muhammad Ramadhan Mosque on Jl. Pulo Ribung, Pekayon Jaya; Jannatul Firdaus Mosque on Jl. Taman Soka, Taman Galaxi Indah; Al-Jiqro Mosque on Jl. Lotus Raya, Jaka Setia; Al Muhajirin Mosque at the Century housing complex in Pekayon Raya; Al-Hikmah Mosque in Bekasi Raya; Imam Bukhori Mosque, and a mosque at Bekasi's Islamic Center.

Maryono added that the ISIL militants were using the Al Muhajirin Mosque as a venue to inaugurate new followers, while the remaining mosques were being used to attract new followers in Bekasi.

'€œThe Jamaah Anshorut Tauhid [JAT] group, which is led by Syamsudin Uba, is allegedly using these mosques to obtain new followers for ISIL,'€ he said as quoted by tempo.co

He also said that JAT had around 50 members, 30 of whom have been identified.

JAT's head, Syamsudin Uba, previously confirmed that his group supported ISIL, but he denied allegations that JAT was helping ISIL to obtain more members in Indonesia.(alz)
