he stock market pulled back slightly Tuesday, following two days of gains, as investors focused on the damage that ongoing geopolitical tensions were causing the global economy. Energy stocks were among the biggest decliners, dragged down by lower oil prices.
On Tuesday:
The Dow Jones industrial average lost 9.44 points, or 0.1 percent, to 16,560.54.
The Standard & Poor's 500 index was down 3.17 points, or 0.2 percent, to 1,933.75.
The Nasdaq composite fell 12.08 points, or 0.3 percent, to 4,389.25.
For the week:
The Dow is up 6.61 points, or 0.04 percent.
The S&P 500 is up 2.16 points, or 0.1 percent.
The Nasdaq is up 18.35 points, or 0.4 percent.
For the year:
The Dow is down 16.12 points, or 0.1 percent.
The S&P 500 index is up 85.39 points, or 4.6 percent.
The Nasdaq is up 212.66 points, or 5.1 percent. (***)
