The first of the Grand Nikko brand from JAL Hotels, Grand Nikko Bali has passed the audit by TÃV Rheinland and has been officially recertified as an eco-hotel after the first certification it received in 2011.
TÃV Rheinland is a Germany-based global provider of technical, safety and certification services.
The recognition serves as an affirmation of the hotel's commitment to comply with all standards and initiatives that seek to create positive, long-term environmental change.
The hotel takes its environmental responsibility seriously. Over the past few years, the resort has done its best to address a number of environmental and social concerns through in-house actions as well as those that involve its surrounding community. Ecologically friendly efforts include tree planting, beach cleanups, recycling and waste management.
'We believe that being ecologically friendly and socially responsible benefits the overall long-term value of the resort. Continuous efforts and improvements, however, are still required to maintain that status and achieve wider sustainable environmental goals,' Grand Nikko Bali general manager Jean-Charles Le Coz said.
