Eight more AirAsia passengers identified

he disaster victim identification (DVI) team from the East Java Police identified eight more passengers of AirAsia flight QZ8501 on Friday, 48 days after the plane crashed into the Java Sea.

DVI team leader Sr. Com. Budiyono said the eight bodies were identified as Michelle Clemency Ardhi, 13, Reggy Ardhi, 40, Rony Handoyo, 28, Juliana Ho, 38, Kenneth Matthew Gunawan, 10, Kayla Audrey Gunawan, 7, Fransisca Lanny Winata Liem, 47, and Vincencia Sri Andrijany, 44.

'€œThe bodies were identified based on their DNA records and the belongings [on them],'€ Budiyono said in Surabaya, as quoted by Antara news agency.

East Java Police chief Insp. Gen. Anas Yusuf said the team had identified 89 remains as of Friday. Thirteen bodies at Bhayangkara Hospital in Surabaya have yet to be identified.(+++)
