entral Java Police will deploy 9,776 officers to maintain security in the province so residents can celebrate the upcoming Islamic holiday of Idul Fitri in peace, Central Java Police chief Insp. Gen. Nur Ali has said.
'The police personnel will provide support to every police force in the province. The Central Java Police have also received reinforcements from the National Police's headquarters,' Nur Ali said on Wednesday.
The police, according Nur Ali, will also pay particular attention to a number of points including those at the border between Central Java and East Java, which will accommodate a huge number of travelers during the annual mudik (exodus) season.
'Many rest areas will be provided along the homebound routes. We urge travelers to use the venues to have a rest, as they are susceptible to fatigue, especially during long journeys,' he said.
