he National Narcotics Agency (BNN) has said it will not challenge the decision of the Attorney General's Office's (AGO) to drop a drug case involving television personality Raffi Ahmad.
'We will not do anything. We submit to the law,' BNN spokesman Slamet Pribadi said.
The AGO said earlier that it would not prosecute Raffi for drug possession because methylone was not categorized as an illegal drug by the Criminal Code (KUHP).
'We can understand the prosecutor's move because the type of drug is not included in the KUHP so they could not do anything about it,' Slamet said as quoted by tribunnews.com.
Raffi, along with 16 others, were arrested by BNN agents following a raid at his house in South Jakarta in 2013.
BNN agents found in the house two rolls of marijuana and 14 methylone capsules, which the agency said were Raffi's property.
The legal status of methylone, which has been classified as a harmful or illegal substance in several countries, including the US, Sweden and the UK, remains unclear in Indonesia.
