fficials at polling stations are being encouraged to connect with other stations through online chatting apps to quickly solve any potential problems in the upcoming Jakarta gubernatorial election runoff.

“In case a polling station runs out of ballots, for instance, local poll administrators could ask other polling stations that still have unused ballots to help,” said Moch Sidik, a commissioner with the Jakarta General Elections Commission, on Thursday as quoted by wartakota.tribunnews.com.

The idea of using chatting apps was recommended by election watchdog Perludem.

Sidik added that an online chat group would allow officials to gather information and inform voters to go to other stations in case of a ballot shortage. (kkk)
