domestic worker has been found dead hanging from a tree in the garden of the house of JB Sumarlin, a former finance minister, in Kuningan, South Jakarta, a police officer said on Tuesday.

South Jakarta Police spokesperson Comr. Purwanta said the body of the 36-year-old Agus Sulistyo was found when the house’s security officer, Supriyadi, went looking for him at around 8:35 p.m. on Monday. He found Agus’ body in the garden.

While police are still investigating the motive, Purwanta said a romantic issue might have played a role in the tragedy.

“Supriyadi said Agus told him that he was frustrated with his romantic relationship,” Purwanta said as quoted by tribunnews.com.

Sumarlin’s son Antonious Widyatama, who lives in the house, said that a few hours before the body was found he had seen Agus in the house. (idb)
