pan-Asian regional airline Jetstar Group in Indonesia has signed a cooperated agreement with payment provider DOKU for ticket purchases.
With the cooperation, Jetstar customers can purchase tickets through DOKU platforms, such as DOKU e-wallet, internet banking, bank transfer and DOKU’s retail partner Alfamart, Jetstar regional general manager for Southeast Asia Leslie Ng told reporters on Tuesday.
“What we want to do [with the cooperation] is to offer new options to customers [because] a credit card alone is not enough,” he said.
The new payment options that DOKU provides will add to the two previous payment methods for Jetstar tickets: credit cards and paying cash at its nine travel outlets in four cities.
Jetstar operates five travel outlets in Jakarta; two in Surabaya, East Java; and one each in Medan, North Sumatra; and Palembang, South Sumatra, Ng said.
Meanwhile, DOKU chief operating officer Nabilah Alsagoff said her company served 1.5 million customers with e-wallet accounts and many more customers using other methods such as credit cards, e-banking and bank transfers.
She said Jetstar was the first international airline to cooperate with DOKU.
DOKU is operated by PT Nusa Satu Inti Artha. (yon)
