P

olice investigating a video that went viral last week, in which a woman apparently dressed only in a thong made a purchase at a drug store in Taman Sari, West Jakarta, have arrested a 26-year-old woman.

Another video, which showed the woman walking along a street, again almost naked, also went viral.

Taman Sari Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Erick Frendriz said the police arrested Vionina Magdalena at her residence in Rasuna Said Apartments in Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Monday evening.

“We will summon her family to complete our investigation,” Erick said as quoted by tribunnews.com on Monday.

He added that the police could not yet provide any information on whether or not Vionina had violated any laws as they were still questioning her.

The West Jakarta Social Affairs Agency’s rehabilitation department head, Sutawijaya, suspected that Vionina may suffer from a mental illness. However, it is also possible she was coerced by someone.

“She was crying when the incident occurred. A parking attendant said she went to the drugstore to buy medicine and left by cab,” Suta said.
