ational Mandate Party (PAN) chairman Zulkifli Hasan said the party had been mulling to support either incumbent West Java Vice Governor Deddy Mizwar or Bandung Mayor Ridwan Kamil during the West Java gubernatorial race, next year.
There was also a possibility that the party would nominate one of its own, such as Bogor Mayor Bima Arya or actress-turned-lawmaker Desy Ratnasari. “We have been in intense political communication with all parties,” Zulkifli, who is also speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR), said in Bandung on Monday.
The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) has formed a coalition with the Gerindra Party to nominate Deddy and Ahmad Syaikhu for West Java governor and deputy governor.
The Golkar Party, meanwhile, will endorse Purwakarta regent and the chairman of the party’s West Java chapter, Dedi Mulyadi.
