Actress arrested for allegedly ordering drugs through ride-hailing app

Jakarta Police have arrested an actress identified as SF and her boyfriend, C, for allegedly ordering drugs by using a ride-haling service app.

akarta Police have arrested an actress identified as SF and her boyfriend, C, for allegedly ordering drugs by using a ride-haling service app.,

The arrest was made last Monday at C's home at the Modern Land housing complex on Jl. Pulau Dewa Barat in Tangerang, narcotics unit director Sr. Comr. Suwondo Nainggolan said.

The taxi driver, identified as H, received an order from a man in Tebet, South Jakarta, to deliver a package without using the delivery service app. The man gave the driver Rp 300,000 (US$22). 

The driver because suspicious when he noticed the man's awkward behavior when he handed over the package. He then reported it to the police, Suwondo said.

An investigation showed that the package contained 0.5 grams of crystal methamphetamine hidden inside a box along with a pack of cigarettes. 

An undercover officer was then assigned to deliver the package to the address where the suspects were arrested.

"The drug was allegedly ordered by SF from her friend, Ardi, who remains at large. It was paid via a money transfer worth Rp 850,000," Suwondo told kompas.com.

Suwondo added that police also seized 5.54 grams of marijuana from C's room that he allegedly purchased from a man identified as Pasha. (yon/dmr)
