Guess what?: Yovie asks son to call him ‘Bro’

M

usician Yovie Widianto, 50, asked his son Arsy Widianto not to call him “Papa” in front of the public at music events attended by teenagers.

“I always tell him not to call me ‘Papa’ during stage events attended by senior high school students. Just call me ‘Bro, Bro,’” Yovie said as quoted by kompas.com on Thursday.

The leader of pop band Kahitna said he wanted his son to call him “Bro” to make him look younger.

Yovie said Arsy started to perform in public during a Kahitna performance in a shopping mall. At that time, other members of Kahitna asked the young man to sing on stage.

Yovie said he thought Arsy was more into playing music, so he was surprised when his son showed greater interest in singing. Arsy recently released his first single, “Nembak #MenyatakanCinta” (Confessing Love), with the help of Yovie and Febrian Nindyo from band HiVi.
