One of Indonesia’s highest paid actors, Chicco Jerikho, did not make it in the film industry easily
One of Indonesia’s highest paid actors, Chicco Jerikho, did not make it in the film industry easily.
Chicco said as quoted by kompas.com that he was once so underappreciated that a production house refused his application for a role even before he made it to the casting process.
“I was on my way to the casting, but they told me to go home even though I had not arrived there yet,” Chicco said.
“They told me that they knew immediately I was not suitable for a role in a feature movie because my background at that time was only playing roles in sinetron [Indonesian soap operas],” he added.
The rejection did not discourage Chicco and he continued to pursue his passion to become an actor.
“I got up from the failure. I kept trying and trying until I finally made it,” he said.
