resident Joko “Jokowi” Widodo exchanged Idul Adha (Day of Sacrifice) greetings with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan by phone at the Bogor Presidential Palace in West Java on Sunday.
“Happy Idul Adha to Your Excellency President Erdogan and Mrs. Emine and all the people of Turkey. May you always be in good health,” said President Jokowi, according to a press release from the Presidential Secretariat.
In return, Erdogan extended his wishes to Jokowi, First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo and the people of Indonesia.

During the conversation, Jokowi noted his appreciation of the increasing cooperation between the two countries, including the possibility of working together to mitigate the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I understand that Turkey is in an advanced stage of vaccine development. I am pleased to hear that our two research and technology ministers have discussed the possibility of cooperation in this matter,” said Jokowi.
Jokowi said he hoped that in a later visit of Erdogan to Indonesia, the two could actualize the cooperation efforts under discussion.
