ngela Lee is truly unstoppable. Even after two years on the sidelines, the reigning ONE atomweight world champion showcased high-level martial arts skills that have catapulted her name to the pinnacle of the sport. At the main event of ONE X on March 26, she defeated Stamp Fairtex to make a huge statement.

The Singapore-American, who took two years off after announcing her pregnancy, departed from Hawaii to fight at Singapore Indoor Stadium with a mission to show that “mothers are the strongest people on the planet”.

The defending champ faced Stamp, who rose to the top of the division after winning the ONE women’s atomweight world grand prix tournament in 2021. Given her inactivity, many thought that Angela would be the underdog coming into the fight. However, she only needed less than two rounds to prove doubters wrong.

She defeated the Thai star via a rear-naked choke with 10 seconds remaining in the second round. She pulled off an incredible comeback after receiving a vicious body shot in the first round – the same strike that led to her first defeat in mixed martial arts (MMA) against strawweight queen Xiong Jing Nan in 2019.

On Thursday, she took to Instagram to share a moment of being ONE’s first-ever mom-champs.

“I wanted to share these photos that @onechampionship captured during my photoshoot on fight week. This was actually taken 4 days before the fight... Before the new belt was actually mine... But Ava already knew this would be ours and so she claimed it with a big kiss! 😂😘🏆,” she wrote in the caption.

“For those who doubted... Never underestimate #MOMSTRENGTH.”

A win over Stamp has proven that Lee has lived up to her “Unstoppable” moniker. The 25-year-old has been untouchable in the atomweight division since she made her professional debut in the all-encompassing sport in 2015.

A year later, she defeated Mei Yamaguchi to become the youngest MMA world champion at 19 years old. Overall, she holds a perfect 11-0 record in the division with nine finishes.

Though no date has been set for her upcoming outing, the titleholder may next face Ham Seo Hee, who defeated Denice Zamboanga in ONE X’s earlier card. The South Korean boasts a legendary record of 25-8 since making her MMA debut in 2007.
