NE Championship’s hottest new prospect, Roberto “Robocop” Soldic, will finally make his debut in the Circle on Saturday, Dec. 3.

His first assignment is a welterweight mixed martial arts battle with Russian powerhouse Murad Ramazanov, who is riding an 11-0 winning streak.

The pair will throw down in the opening bout of the ONE Fight Night 5: De Ridder vs. Malykhin main card at the Mall of Asia Arena, Manila, in what promises to be a barnburner.

Before Robocop makes his organizational debut, we have broken down three things you should know about the rising mixed martial arts star.

No. 1: Soldic started in judo

The Croatian powerhouse’s career in combat sports started at the age of 15.

He is now best known for his striking prowess, but Soldic began his training with a focus on judo.

It would not be until a year later that he would pick up boxing and begin to put his skills to use.

But Robocop’s early pursuit of the Japanese grappling discipline has stayed with him, as he can hold his own on the canvas even today.

Soldic enters ONE with a 20-3 record in mixed martial arts, but he has also had a successful career as a professional boxer.

Robocop has a perfect 4-0 slate in “the sweet science,” and his heavy hands should help him in his debut in the Circle.

No. 3: Soldic is a two-division world champion

The 27-year-old is coming to The Home of Martial Arts from the Polish MMA promotion KSW.

While there, he competed in the middleweight and welterweight divisions and won the World Titles in both.

Soldic sealed the deal with two first-round knockouts against some of the toughest opponents KSW has on offer, and this level of competition will, undoubtedly, come in handy as he takes the next step in his professional career.
