Below are the winners of Selayar Fishing Tournament 2017
hree fishing clubs from Makassar dominated Selayar Fishing Tournament (SFT) 2017 that was held on Nov. 11 – 12 in Selayar Islands Regency and Taka Bonerate National Park located in the southern part of Sulawesi Island.
The starting point of the tournament was located in Appatanah Village.
Fortis-1 club was crowned as the winner of all categories with three awards, whilst PHH-1 and Gudang Sakti FC each bagged two awards.
“From the 10 categories, Fortis-1 took three awards for the all-around winner, Tenggiri/Wahu and best captain categories,” said Selayar tourism department head Andi Abdurrahman.
Meanwhile, PHH-1 was the winner in Amberjack and Kerapu categories and Gudang Sakti was the winner in Kakap/Kurisi and Escolar/Oilfish Special Species categories.
The tournament that was held to commemorate the 410th anniversary of Selayar and was joined by 53 teams/ships consisting of 210 people from different parts of Indonesia.
Selayar has several beautiful tourist attractions such as Bahuluang Island in Bontosikuyu district that offers white-sand beach and Makam Karang an island formed by fragments of dead corals and located in the middle of the ocean. What’s unique about this island is its shape changes every season.
Other than the two aforementioned places, there are the current “it” places according to the millennials such as Penyu Village, Pabbaddilang Beach, Punagaan Beach, Liang Kereta, Patikore Waterfall, Batau Karapu Beach and mangrove cluster.
