behind-the-scenes preview of the upcoming action-adventure film Kong: Skull Island, a film based on the original story of King Kong from the Vietnam War era, was screened at the MTV Movie Awards.
“The film is about a group of explorers who set out on an adventure to a previously uncharted island,” Brie Larson, who plays the role of a peace-focused photojournalist, revealed as quoted by Reuters.
“They get to this island and discover that all is not quite as it first appears; there are strange new creatures, mythic beasts that come into the midst, and they have to get off the island alive,” added Tom Hiddleston, who stars as a resourceful former British SAS officer.
Directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer), the film cast includes Corey Hawkins, Jason Mitchell, Samuel L. Jackson, John Goodman, Tom Wilkinson and John C. Reilly.
Set to premiere on March 10, 2017, Kong: Skull Island will be the first in the Kong trio franchise produced by Legendary and Warner Bros. The second film in the series will be 2018's Godzilla 2 while Godzilla Vs Kong has been scheduled for release in 2020. (kes)
