hile it has already been announced that Istirahatlah Kata-Kata (Solo, Solitude), a movie about missing Indonesian poet Wiji Thukul, will premiere at the 69th Locarno International Film Festival in Switzerland, there is another screen gem featuring Indonesian actors that will also be shown at the festival.

The thriller Interchange is a co-production involving both Indonesians and Malaysians; it was directed by Malaysian Dain Iskandar Said and stars Indonesian actors Nicholas Saputra and Prisia Nasution.
Interchange tells the story of a police and a criminal photographer’s efforts to solve a murder mystery. Their investigation unveils their city’s darkest secrets and unleashes supernatural forces into the real world. The 102-minute movie will be screened as part of the Piazza Grande program alongside 15 other movies from different parts of the world.
Meanwhile, Istirahatlah Kata-Kata (Solo, Solitude) will have its world premiere at the Concorso Cineasti del presente (Filmmakers of the Present) Awards, and will compete against 14 other movies from Greece, United States, Egypt, Japan, Argentina, France, Germany, Switzerland, Colombia, Canada, Qatar, Italy and Bolivia. The best film in this competition will win the Golden Leopard award.

The Locarno International Film Festival is an annual event held every August in Locarno, Switzerland, since 1946. The festival has gained a reputation as a place to discover new talents, directors, actors and even film-world trends.
