da Band is said to alter its pop roots during their performance at the Prambanan Jazz Festival in the Prambanan temple complex, Yogyakarta on Friday, Aug 18 at the Britama Stage.
Ada Band bassist, Suriandika Satjadibrata (Dika) predicts there will be more bands stepping out of their roots when performing in the jazz festival.
“In this year’s PJF, there are a lot of non-jazz bands and it’s ok. Ada Band might perform our own genre with a touch of jazz. We will adjust,” he said to Kompas.com at the festival’s press conference Friday afternoon.

Aside from altering their music arrangements to give the jazz treatment, Dika said the band will also allow vocalist Donnie Sibarani to express himself.
“There will be a special solo segment in the middle of the performance,” Dika said.
The band is scheduled to perform six of their hits from 2003. The playlist has been adjusted to the 90s music concept that has been set to be the festival’s opening theme.
The Prambanan Jazz Festival will be held from 18 to 20 August 2017, featuring both local and international artists. (asw)
