Guess what?: Slank wants larger audience for jail gig

AKARTA: Rock band Slank’s big wish this year is to hold a bigger show in a prison than the one last year.

“Pray for us, because Slank has been wanting to entertain our friends who are in prison,” drummer Bimbim said last Thursday as quoted by kompas.com.

The band played at Tangerang Penitentiary last year. However, they said the show failed to accommodate all of the potential audience members at the prison. The incarcerated who did have the luxury to see them play were selected through a competition.

“There was a competition one week before we played. Those who performed all the daily prayers or were most diligent in performing cleaning tasks were allowed to watch us,” Bimbim said.
