Boediono gives ‘Soegija’ two thumbs up

AKARTA: Vice President Boediono says he is impressed by the movie Soegija, which was directed by noted filmmaker Garin Nugroho.

“I give this movie two thumbs up,” he said, literally acting out his words on Tuesday night after watching the film at Rasuna Epicentrum in Jakarta.

Soegija tells the story of national hero and the country’s first local-born archbishop, Mgr. Albertus Magnus Soegijapranata SJ or Soegija.

Boediono’s wife, Herawati, Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Mari Elka Pangestu, Health Minister Nafsiah Mboi and Defense Minister Purnomo Yusgiantoro accompanied him, along with director Garin and Nirwan Dewanto, who played the part of Soegijapranata.

“This movie is very good,” Boediono said.
