ANDAR LAMPUNG: Landslides at Bukit Barisan Selatan National Park and Labuhanmadi village have reportedly cut the Trans West Sumatra-Bengkulu route, forcing traffic from Lampung to detour via Way Kanan regency before reaching Bengkulu and South Sumatra.
“The landslides have also damaged electricity poles and this has caused blackouts in some districts in West Lampung,” said South Pesisir district head Armen Kodar on Monday.
Armen said that heavy rain on Sunday night had also inundated a number of villages in South Pesisir and Central Pesisir district to a depth of 1.5 meters.
“The floods have submerged around 500 houses and we will coordinate with Central Pesisir district head to evacuate the residents,” Armen said.
