ndonesia will host ASEAN Plus Eight joint exercises in counterterrorism at the Indonesia Peace and Security Center in Bogor, West Java, next September.

"We will host this joint training in counter terrorism as a co-chair along with the US in the ASEAN Defense Ministers Plus Eight country program," Defense Ministry secretary general Budiman said as quoted by Antara news agency.

The training will involve 10 ASEAN member countries plus eight additional countries, namely the US, South Korea, Australia, Russia, China, India, New Zealand and Japan.

Budiman said the peace keeping training area in Bogor was currently being developed and was expected to be ready to use on the date of event. (asw)
