ASEAN golf c'ship held in Magelang

he 30th ASEAN golf championship is being held for the first time at the Borobudur International Golf & Country Club (BIGCC) in Magelang, Central Java.

BIGCC general manager W. Widiasmanto said that at least 280 golfers from six ASEAN countries were taking part in the event, which began on Monday and runs through Wednesday.

"The participants are mostly senior golfers aged over 50. The participants will also compete in the Merapi Golf Yogyakarta, which will be opened at the Royal Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta," Widiasmanto said on Tuesday as quoted by kompas.com.

He added that the participants came from Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia.
