tudents at vocational senior high school SMK Kristen 1 in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, on Tuesday had the start time of their national exams delayed by two hours as the papers had been 'inadvertently misplaced'.
'The students were forced to wait,' headmaster Martinus Snae said in Kupang on Tuesday as quoted by Antara news agency, adding that the delay had a negative impact on the student's concentration.
It was only discovered that the paper was for the wrong subject when it was about to be distributed to the 100 students waiting to take the exam.
The exam supervisors and related parties decided to copy the correct exam papers.
According to the timetable, the students were supposed to be sitting the mathematics for management business papers, but the papers they received were mathematics for tourism and office technology.
Martinus said that the mistake was the responsibility of the local exam committee during the printing process and not the school. (yln)
