he Gambir Tax Unit has opened a billboard tax outlet at ITC Roxy Mas in Central Jakarta to facilitate the tax payment of 840 taxpayers in the shopping mall.
Jakarta Tax Agency deputy head Djuli Zulkarnaen said Monday he hoped the presence of the tax outlet would encourage the taxpayers to settle their obligation.
'We opened the outlet here, so they will have no reason not to pay their taxes,' Djuli said as quoted by beritajakarta.com.
Johari, the head of the Gambir Tax Unit, said two tax officers would be posted in the outlet. The taxpayers who have paid the taxes would get a sticker that stated the completion of the obligation.
He said further that his office would issue a warning letter to the tax payers if they did not make any payment by next week. He added that the tax officers would not hesitate to close the taxpayers' business shop at ITC Roxy Mas if they still refused to pay.
