asar Minggu General Hospital (RSUD) in Ragunan, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, is set to start operating in October.

Jakarta Health Agency head Koesmedi said the management of the hospital was currently gearing up for the operation.

'€œThey are preparing human resources and health equipment. It will start operating in October,'€ he said on Monday as quoted by kompas.com.

Meanwhile, the president director of Pasar Rebo General Hospital in East Jakarta, Christina Indra Rini, said that her hospital was currently training around 1,000 medical workers who would be assigned to the new hospital.

'€œFor the time being, we have trained 329 people,'€ she said.

The hospital is set to have 449 beds and 80 percent of them are dedicated to the Kelas III facility, or the lowest facility. The building has been under construction since 2014.

RSUD Pasar Minggu is adding another six RSUDs in Jakarta: RSUD Pasar Rebo, RSUD Budi Asih and RSKO Duren Sawit in East Jakarta, RSUD Koja in North Jakarta, RSUD Cengkareng in West Jakarta and RSUD Tarakan in Central Jakarta. South Jakarta has been relying on state-run Fatmawati Hospital.
