Greater Jakarta: Hotel Borobudur'€™s GM dies aged 66

oul E. Bitsch, president director of Discovery Hotels & Resorts and General Manager of Hotel Borobudur Jakarta, died on Dec. 6 at the age of 66 at Jakarta'€™s Abdi Waluyo Hospital.

In a press release, Artha Graha Network, PT Jakarta International Hotels & Development Tbk and Discovery Hotels & Resorts expressed their condolences, describing Bitsch as a distinguished leader who would be dearly missed.

Having obtained his degree in Denmark, the US and Canada, Bitsch had more than 30 years of experience in the hotel industry. Since 2000, he was assigned as Hotel Borobudur Jakarta'€™s general manager and president director of Discovery Hotels & Resorts, which manages a number of hotels, including Hotel Borobudur Jakarta and Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel Bali.

The memorial service was held at Heaven Funeral Home, Aquarius on Penjaringan, North Jakarta, while the cremation was held on Dec. 12. Bitsch is survived by a wife and a daughter.
