President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo planted Indonesia's dreams in a time capsule during his visit to Merauke, Papua, on Wednesday. The time capsule will be opened in 2085.

"Today, through Indonesia's 70th Independence National Movement, the nation's dreams are concluded in the time capsule. We are unifying the dreams of all citizens from each province," he said as quoted in the press statement sent by the President's staff.

Papua, the President said, was the right choice for the time capsule location as it was a land rich with natural and cultural resources.

He also stressed that Indonesia's dreams could only be reached through hard work.

"Remember, our vision in the future is competition. I am sure that with cooperation we can fulfil our dreams," he said.

The time capsule toured the 34 provinces from Sept. 22, covering 24,089 kilometers.

During the ceremony held in the Hapsana Sai field in Merauke, Jokowi asked for help from two elementary students to read out Indonesia's seven dreams. The students were Laher Fabiola Ogilin and Lous Ferdinand Kombombira, both 11.

Indonesia's dreams 2015-2085 are:

1. For Indonesian human resources to excel compared with other nations in the world

2. For Indonesians to uphold pluralism, culture, religion and ethics

3. For Indonesia to be a center of education, technology and civilization in the world

4. For Indonesia and its officials to be free of corruption

5. For equal infrastructure development throughout the country

6. For Indonesia to be the most influential country in the Asia-Pacific region

7. For Indonesia to be the barometer of economic growth in the world (rin)(+)
