he Jakarta chapter of the General Elections Commission (KPU Jakarta) is set to officially announce the result of the Feb. 15 gubernatorial election at the Grand Sahid Hotel in Central Jakarta on Sunday morning.
"Tomorrow, we will recapitulate the provincial voting results," KPU Jakarta commissioner Betty Epsilon Idroos told The Jakarta Post on Saturday.
After announcing the results, the commission would give three days to any dissatisfied candidates to challenge the results at the Constitutional Court.
If no party challenged the results, the commission would announce the runoff in the next few days, she said.
Another KPU Jakarta commissioner, Dahlia Umar, said the possible runoff would be announced between March 2 and March 4.
"Three days after we announce the runoff, the candidates could start campaigning," Dahlia said.

The commission expected to start the campaign period on March 7 and hold the runoff on April 19, Dahlia added.
The current vote count by the commission shows that incumbent Jakarta Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama and his running mate Djarot Saiful Hidayat won by a whisker over rival candidate pair Anies Baswedan and Sandiaga Uno. Trailing in a distant third is the pairing of Agus Yudhoyono and his running mate Sylviana Murni.
The preliminary results suggest that the two, who conceded defeat on Feb. 15, are out of the race. (dmr)
