ank Indonesia (BI) and the Foreign Ministry have agreed to cooperate in improving economic diplomacy in order to enhance Indonesia's role in international economic affairs.
This commitment has been expressed in the agreement signed by BI governor Agus D.W. Martowardojo and Indonesia Minister of foreign affairs, Retno L.P. Marsudi, on Friday, in Jakarta.
"Bank Indonesia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs need to strengthen cooperation amid growing dynamic challenges facing Indonesia in international cooperation," Agus said.

He added harmonious coordination and synergy that had been established between the two institutions have to be improved to boost the perception of the Indonesian economy at the international level.
To realize the plan, both institutions will create a work program. They agreed to conduct regular monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of the annual work program. The agreement is valid for three years and can be extended according to the agreement of both parties. (bbn)
