“The suspect is detained at the Reo Police office, and the illegal kerosene has been secured,” NTT Police spokesman Adj. Sr. Comr. Jules Abas told The Jakarta Post on Wednesday.
The suspect had been charged under the Oil and Gas Law of 2001, he added.
“The investigation began after police received information from residents about a shortage of kerosene in Reo, while the suspect was able to sell it, but at a price far exceeding the normal price of Rp 5,000 [US Cents 40] per liter,” he said.
Sabran did not have a license to distribute kerosene, Jules added. (bbs)
